17 pallet locations eventually became the facility when the European Beer Challenge was announced in London. 5 (6) Norwegian brewers ended up with medals, which is a nice confirmation that Norwegian brewers maintain high, international quality of their brews.
Several Norwegian breweries had delivered goods to the competition. Two brewers in particular brought many medals, namely Austmann Brewery (5) and Nøgne Ø (4). Marketing manager at Nøgne Ø, Tom Young, thought this was good news.
“Marooned got double gold in the competition, and we think this is the best brew ever launched by Nøgne Ø. 3 of the 4 entries we submitted received gold medals, so the fact that Dark Horizon 6” only “got we rather live with silver, ”says a cheerful Tom to the Beer Portal. There are many such competitions, and not all can be taken equally seriously. However, the European Beer Challenge is one of the more stable beer competitions in the world, and has held since 2006.
“It’s always useful and interesting to have our breweries measured against other brewer’s beers.” Tom continues, “With well over 100 such medals and diplomas already hanging on our trophy wall, it is also a constant reminder to stretch even a little further . ”He concludes.
